So what exactly is Pippen's?

Pippen's Tiny Adventurers is a children's, Amateur Dance, Drama and Performance club, especially designed for the 24mths-4yrs age group, and their Parents/Carers.

It is the third group of 7 proposals, in the Box Tree Family.

The Groups are:

The Seedlings  Explorers (0-12mths)

The Seedlings  Explorers (1-2 and a half years)

The Pippen's (24mths-4yrs)

The Bud's (4-7years)

The Saplings (8-12 years)

The Youth Theatre (13-15 years)

and

The Box Tree Performers (16-100 years)

So what will my child do at club?

Each week the club will have a structured plan in place, that will be both fun and beneficial to you and your child.

If you do not want to join in with a certain activity, that is absolutely fine, you can just relax and watch your child have fun instead.

Weekly activities will include:

* A 10 minute ice breaker session, with activities such as Nursery rhymes and musical instruments, Dressing up and role play, or especially designed physical games which will help develop your child's fine and gross motor skills.

* A 20 minute dance class.

More often than not, this will be a Mime and Movement class, but also Ballet, Disco, Party Dance and Pre-schoolers keep fit (this is also good for grown ups, as provides basic and moderate exercise covering all key areas.)

* Basic refreshment break.

* A 15-20 minute craft activity (parent/helper led) such as making stick puppets, masks, costume props etc. (this is also an opportunity for me to take small groups of children for show rehearsals when it is required.)

* Club will then wind down using an interactive story, such as "We're going on a bear hunt", "The gingerbread man", "Goldilocks and the three bears", Little beaver and the echo", and Many more.

At the end of each weekly session, the children will be rewarded with a sticker.

That all sounds great!

  But what are the groups main aims? and how will my child benefit from the club?

Club aims and Benefits

All activities and classes have been especially designed, and formulated for the Pre-school age group by myself, through years of professional experience working with children, and experience from my own amateur performing life. Introduced to me by my parents at a young age.

It is my goal to help young children to develop their skills in the following ways!

  • Building up self confidence using positive reinforcement and reward. (Earning certificates, giving praise and encouragement, and handing out stickers at the end of each session.)

  • Fuelling the imagination. (Through role play activities, acting out stories, mime and movement classes etc.)

  • Developing physical skills, both gross and fine motor. (Using a variety of physical activities, and basic dance classes)

  • Introducing new vocabulary and experiences through the spoken word.(Using  well known children's stories, Singing nursery rhymes, reading poems etc.)

  • Encouraging social interactions with others, through games and activities. (Ring o Roses, The Farmers in his den, ball games, and more.)

  • Being able to express themselves emotionally. (How do I feel game being an example.)

  • Developing creativity, through performance themed activities, such as Puppets, home made musical instruments, masks and more.

  • Last of all, giving the older children of the  group a chance to perform on stage, in a live public performance. (Over 2 and a half's only, as younger children will find it a bit frightening. The younger children will get a chance to perform to an audience, but on a much smaller scale, this will be done in front of family members only.)
